Monterey morning with Sea Lions on the jetty.
|DAY 35 - OCT 6 - THURSDAY
Another big day planned. We started out in Monterey going down to the Coast Guard Pier to see and hear the hundreds of Sea Lions that call this place home. These animals are fun to watch.
As we left the parking lot, we noticed a "low tire" warning on the dash of the rental car. Upon stopping at a service station we observed a screw in one of the rear tires. This lead to several hours of delay as we did what needed to be done to get the tire replaced and finally make our way east.
Our original plan for getting to Yosemite was ambitious to start with. The delay changed then plan and we only made it part way towards Yosemite, stopping in some of the rich farm country of central California at a Merced, CA hotel. We enjoyed some delicious food and watched the Weather channel as Hurricane Matthew was battering the Florida coast.
