The mountains in Lassen National Forest California
|DAY 31 - OCT 2 - SUNDAY
Our trip today would take us on the Zig phase of a little Zig-Zag as we headed east from Eureka, through the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, through Redding CA, and on through the snow covered mountains in the Lassen National Forest and Lassen Volcanic National Park areas of California on our way to Reno, NV. We had not been to western Nevada before and wanted to check it out. The drive through the California mountains was spectacular.
We stopped at a few fire stations including a National Park station and the Shasta Forest CALFIRE Fire Station.
We got into our campground in Reno at sunset and spent Night 31 there. It rained hard that night as a cold front came through.
|STATES: CA, NV (2) States for the day / (22) different States and (4) Provinces so far|

The foggy, smokey looking early morning clouds in the hills into the
National Forest between Eureka and Redding, CA.
Apparently "Bigfoot" slept here
A lot of this trip was on some interesting roads through mountains
You see signs all the time about "Falling Rocks" or "Slide zone"
Here it looks like the hill slide came down across the road.

This engine caught my eye for obvious reasons.
Yes, chilly out there
