|DAY 2 - SEPT 3 - SATURDAY
We got up early with a pretty pre-sunrise pink sky and began heading west. The goal for the day was to reach the Pittsburgh, PA area. It is one of the potential Fireboat (FB) locations to check out, plus we had not been there for many years.
We made our way west across CT, into NY and over the Tappan Zee Bridge, which is being replaced by a spectacular new bridge over the Hudson River. Then it was across NJ and into PA. We made good time driving across I-80 west and reached Pittsburgh with some time to look around. We made a few attempts to park downtown so that we could check out the waterfront and stadium area. Unfortunately, it was Saturday and there was a big College football game at Heinz Field. One of the challenges with an RV is parking in cities, especially older cities. So, we ended up driving around a little to get a look at the city and then left without getting any boat pictures.
We drove south out of Pittsburgh to a campground in Washington, PA for Night 2.
