LYNCHBURG, VA
The journey to find and photograph fireboats and other interesting things
brought us out toward central Virginia. One stop was in Lynchburg, VA.

It is always fun when you find a great looking older fire house.
Lynchburg Station 6 built in 1912 and still in operation.

SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE, VA
The journey out into central Virginia was to visit Smith Mountain Lake, located
a little East of Roanoke. The man made lake has a very unique fire-Rescue department
that is fully water based. The department is all volunteer and operates 8 boat stations
around the lake. We were fortunate to have been able to get a great tour of most of
the stations and boats on a beautiful chilly February day thanks to Chief Todd Ohlerich.
