| Day 7 started out in Duluth, MN. We started out checking out the views and finding a few Fire Stations. A cruise ship had arrived during the early morning hours.. |

| We found a few Fire Stations, including Station 1, which
overlooks the harbor.
We then made our way west towards a place called Crosby, MN. |
| FARM LANDS |
| Once again, we traveled through some beautiful country side. |
| CROSBY MN |
| About 90 miles west of Duluth, and 100 miles north of
Minneapolis, is a small town named Crosby, MN. It is a
historic town, that grew up on the shores of Serpent Lake. The area
was once a very vital mining area, where the Cuyuna Iron Range mines
provided much of the iron and steel that America needed in WWI and
WWII.
A mining disaster in 1924 killed 48 miners, when the deep underground mines flooded suddenly. In recent years, the town has brought tourists who enjoy mountain bike trails, and recreational areas for fishing, scuba diving, and much more The town has a nice Main Street with restaurants and shops. Pride is displayed in all directions. |
| CROSBY MN |
| The Crosby, MN Fire Department is a paid on call department with
one Fire Station located at the corner or 1st Ave NW and 1st Street
NW. Approximately 24 members staff the apparatus, which includes
Engine 1, Engine3, Ladder 1, Tanker 2, and several support vehicles.
Our visit got a great tour of the station and apparatus and some fun swag. Crosby does approximately 100 calls annually. We happened to be witness to one of them when Engine 1 and a support vehicle were put on the road with full crews of 4 each within a few minutes of being dispatched to an MVC. We appreciate the hospitality of the Crosby folks who welcomed us Crosby folks!

| MINNEAPOLIS - ST PAUL MN |
| After Crosby, we headed into Minneapolis. We looked around the
city to get the lay of the land for tomorrow. After locating Target
Field, we found the very interesting looking US Bank Stadium of the
Vikings. We then proceeded to our hotel near St Paul. While working on the computer and watching TV, we started hearing loud explosions outside. We went outside and totally enjoyed a spectacular Fireworks Display somewhere nearby. Awesome! Since it was our 39th Anniversary, we took full credit! |
