Our Tokyo Trip - Day 4 - Leaving Tokyo

Check Out
Our 3 nights in Tokyo were wonderful. The room was large, comfortable and had the most amazing views of the Tokyo skyline. It was a great place to use as a base to see and do everything we could in Tokyo.

Typically, a hotel room is a hotel room. There are certain things you don't talk about, but this time it would be unfair to not talk about the bathroom!  It was, by far, one of the nicest bathrooms we have ever experienced. You can feel the quality of design, with purpose, and execution, with nice tiles and details.

First of all, double doors coming in to the bathroom. Cool. It had a large, deep, nice bath tub, and a separate shower that had the best head and water pressure!

The toilet is a piece of high tech equipment. The seat is heated! Nice. It comes with an assortment of other functions, bells, and whistles that will be left to your imagination. You could spend all day there and not feel guilty.

Last but not least, a heated mirror. You know how mirrors steam up when you shower, and you can't shave in the fog. The middle of this mirror is somehow heated and does not steam up!

Overall a definite 10/10 Rating! Arigato Grand Nikko!

Another tram heading out of the Odaiba Station, between the Grand Nikko and the Tokyo Hilton.

Some of the Tokyo skyline over the harbor.

The Grand Nikko Hotel.

Lets go get breakfast. The Fuji Television building ahead is one of the easiest to recognize.

One of the amazing, wide, long stairways leading up into the Fuji Television Building.

The Gate of Venus. Near the Fuji building. Not sure what it is all about, but it looked interesting.

LOVE Sign
The Love Sign is a perfect place for photos. Colorful, meaningful, great statue and beautiful skyline.

We don't always think about the work that goes into things we take for granted. The walkway to breakfast serves a simple purpose, but does so in a very interesting way.

The line getting into breakfast was long, but worth the wait.

Train Schedule
Folks that aren't using a phone app could still figure out the train schedule.

Posted at each station, the train schedules are listed by weekdays or weekends, hours of the day, and minutes of the hours. Color coding indicates whether it is Local, Limited, or Express train.
This is a busy station.

No trains are scheduled between 0100 - 0400. Typically, that is when safety inspections, maintenance, and cleaning are done each day.

HOME AGAIN!

A great day overall. We got this!

Morning Apparatus Checks
He slept great, and so did we. He started his day with some breakfast, and then conducted some morning apparatus checks. He already has a pretty impressive fleet of "Japanese" apparatus and definitely seems to have legitimately gotten "THE Gene."

They make some great quality, realistic toys over here.
NOTE TO SELF: "I Gotta Get Me Some!"

Road Trip - Zushi Fire Station
So, he got his morning apparatus checks done early. How should he be rewarded?

What if Papa was to pack things up, and take him into Zushi, to visit the Fire Headquarters?!

ROAD TRIP! So off we go, with him in his stroller, taking the train from (KK-52) to (KK-53).
It is a good walk from the train station to Zushi HQ. Already very hot and humid again.

One of the Zushi guys gave us a great tour of the apparatus. The little guy was dressed for the party and had a great time.

This little truck is just the right size.

It doesn't get much better than this!

Some quality Papa and Bubba time, with fire trucks and trains.

I Lost My Phone!
On the way back to the Zushi train station, we stopped to watch a train go by a crossing.
I took my phone out of its holster and made a little video.

We continued on for a few minutes, when I suddenly noticed "I HAD LOST MY PHONE!"
I QUICKLY turned around, and re-traced our route to back where we took the video of the train.
No sign of the phone! A few choice words!!  The poor little guy was soaked, tired, and hot.

Papa got him safely back to Nana. Then, borrowed her phone and took the train back again to Zushi.
We used the Find Me mode and could see my phone, but couldn't find it.

We reached out to a couple guys directing traffic at a work site nearby. We didn't speak the same language, but one of them brought me a short distance to a little local Zushi Police Station.

None of the 3 Japanese officers seemed to speak English, but we somehow managed to get the message across that "I LOST MY PHONE!"  We tried to fill out some paperwork. I am wondering how I am going to get by without my phone...

A few minutes later, one of the officers comes out of the back room, with MY PHONE!  In a zip lock bag. OMG!  Someone had apparently found my phone on the sidewalk and brought it to the police station. It was out of my possession for only about 1-1/2 hours!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  Whew! ARIGATO!!!

This is the train crossing where I lost the phone. (Taken at a later date when I had my phone)

This is the little Zushi Police Station where I was able to recover my phone.

It doesn't look like much, and I probably wouldn't have even found it, without the help of those good folks. Thankfully, it all worked out well!
