Outside Observation Deck
One of the interesting things in Japan is the squatting toilet. This is one of the options in a public bathroom at the airport, and certainly many other places. We were a little worried about having to use this type of facility. Fortunately, we managed to find plenty of options we were more familiar with during our vacation!

Over The Pacific AS THE WORLD TURNS... When we left Japan, it was about 09:55 on Monday October 9, 2023 at Home on the east coast of the USA. Halfway across the ocean, we crossed the International Date Line once again. Now it was Oct 10 in the USA. We landed at SFO San Francisco International Airport at about 16:20 on Tuesday October 10, 2023 Local time in California. So despite our 9:25 hours flight in the air over the Pacific, we landed in California before we left Japan. It can be a little confusing at best, keeping it all straight. So, while at SFO, we decided to adjust our watch once again to help keep it all straight. By coincidence, or some other act of nature, in doing so, my watch battery just happened to expire! Our layover in San Francisco was about 6:55 hours, plus delayed a little more. We left SFO around midnight on Wednesday October 11, 2023 with about a 5:40 hour overnight flight to Boston.
