Leaving Hiroshima
Our visit to Hiroshima was wonderful and very memorable.

We enjoyed breakfast and checked out of the hotel.

This Shin "Bullet" gets a lot of attention.

"Hello Kitty" Shinkansen.

We did not ride this train, but our 16 car train would travel about 187 miles in 1:40 mins.

Osaka Excel Hotel
We got to Osaka, and to our hotel, the Osaka Excel. It frames the Minamimido Buddhist Temple.

The hotel lobby was on the 16th Floor. Interesting. Our room was on the 12th Floor.

Sakai City
Papa had a couple Fireboats to find. We were able to drop off our backpacks at the hotel. The family went their way, and Papa on his way. About an hour train ride, and then a walk through some neighborhoods brought us to a Sakai Fire Station. Along the way, simple homes like this represented so many well kept homes we passed.

Sakai City Fire Bureau
After a walk from the train station, this is the Sakai City Fire Station, which had a lot of impressive industrial sized apparatus, and the Sakai City Fireboat.

The Sakai City Fireboat was unfortunately away for annual maintenance. But, this is where it would have been, if only...

Big Trucks - The Industrial Pumpers
Sakai City is in an Industrial area. The station has two large, specialized pumping apparatus with high capacity pumps. Number 1 is an impressive unit.

Next door, is the station housing many of the Sakai City special apparatus.

Osaka Fire Station
This Osaka Fire Station is in Tempozan near the Osaka Aquarium.

It is also the Osaka Fireboat Station.

A Beautiful Start
We started out our second day in Osaka. This beautiful work of art was hanging in the lobby of the Hotel Excel. It depicts some of the scenes around Osaka. Central being the Osaka Castle. Our first big adventure of the day.

Our first mission of the day is the Osaka Castle as a family. The Old and New.
The Castle was a short train ride and walk.

Walls like this, at the Osaka Castle, were built to last forever.

To the Tempozan area
Papa and Nana headed out on our own for the afternoon. Back down the tracks to the area of the Osaka Aquarium known as Tempozan. There is a food court, shopping area, Legoland Discovery, and much more.

Kid Sized
We have been admiring how well children at a young age demonstrate personal responsibility, discipline, accountability, and respect. This rest room offers child sized facilities that young children are able to use on their own.
