| DAY 19 - JULY 23 We left Colorado Springs and headed south on I-25 through mostly open plains with some mountains in the distance with a couple stops. We then headed west on Route 160 on our way to "Great Sand Dunes National Park" in south central Colorado. This amazing site has sand dunes that are 750 feet tall surrounded by mountains. We spent a night in a place called Alamosa, CO after a 223 mile day. |

This ranch had American Flags flying along the interstate about every half mile or so for miles.
Nice place for lunch
That light area at the end of the road is the sand dunes about 16 miles away
Just like going to the beach in the middle of the desert
