Another classic example of a tough Mack fire apparatus is the Mack Aerialscope.
Designed and built in conjunction with Baker, the first Aerialscopes were introduced
in 1964. The mid-mounted, extending boom, bucket trucks came in 75' and 95' versions.
The FDNY and many other cities used the trucks hard as ladder companies and
elevated platforms for master streams.  Many of these trucks were picked up by
other departments after retirement from their first assignments and went on
to serve full second or third careers.

This Mack "Aerial Scope 2" was used by the Worcester, MA Fire Department
for many years.  It started out during the 1980's "Worcester Yellow" years and
eventually was repainted red and white.

Mack Fire Trucks
Possibly America's most famous manufacturer of fire apparatus,
Mack Trucks of Allentown, Pennsylvania began building fire trucks around 1911.
Over the years, these beautiful fire engines, bearing the trademark "Bull Dog",
proved to be as tough and reliable as the saying "Built like a Mack Truck" indicates.
Thousands of these classic apparatus served over the years.
Mack stopped making custom apparatus in 1990 to the dismay of Mack fans.
This is a tribute to some of the Macks I have admired had the pleasure of photographing.
