  A TRIBUTE TO THE OSTERVILLE FIRE STATION
 PAST AND PRESENT
 

 

Osterville Fire Station
In 1993, the decision was made to take down the
old hose / horn tower rather than continue to repair
the leaky roof.

"Captain Donald "Snuffy" Souza
June 3, 2001

 

The Osterville Station
was converted into a church for the funeral
of Captain Souza on June 3, 2001.
Snuffy was a daily visitor to the station
for decades, including the years following
his line of duty injury in Dec 1995.

The old Osterville Station
Built in 1926, added onto several times,
served as headquarters for many years.
On July 11, 2009 the station closed for the
last time, soon to be torn down to make room
for the new station.
