Cuttyhunk Island Fire Department.
The small island of Cuttyhunk at the end of the Elizabeth Islands chain is the most populated of the islands which are officially the Town of Gosnold. With a very small year round population of perhaps a couple dozen residents, the island is protected by the Cuttyhunk FD which has about 6 official members and a number of seasonal volunteers. The fire station is located in a small garage on the power station on Cemetery Road.  Two fire engines protect the island. A 60,000 gallon water tank is located at the highest point on the island and a system of pipes and fire hydrants protect the settled portion of the island near the harbor.
Seth Garfield served as the fire chief for many years and continues to be a member. Asa Lombard currently serves as the Chief for the past 8 years of so.
The department responds to only a couple incidents annually. There is no EMS on the island. Medflight or the USCG would be called for any priority emergencies.

Town of Gosnold includes several islands in the "Elizabeth Islands" including Cuttyhunk, Nashawena, Pasque, Naushon, Nonomesset, and Uncatena.  Overall, about 13.2 square miles with a small population of about 52 year round residents.
