| The aggressive attack contained
the fire as it began to extend to another attached building. Mutual aid companies and Hyannis units worked together to extinguish the fire. The country mutual aid system provided mutual aid to the scene and coverage for vacant stations across the Cape. Units responded to the scene from Hyannis, COMM, Yarmouth, Barnstable, West Barnstable, Dennis, and Sandwich. Units providing coverage assignments came from the above departments and Brewster ,Harwich, Cotuit, Mashpee, Otis, Falmouth, and Bourne. The Red Cross provided assistance for firefighters and occupants. Eight units were destroyed, another twelve damaged. There were no serious injuries. Units remained on scene late into the afternoon. |
