"Vernon R. Buss"
The older of the Portland Fireboat 17's is the "Vernon R. Buss"
which is a 42' aluminum vessel built in 1996 by Rozema Boat Works.
42' LOA - 15' 8" beam - 5' draft
Approx 4,500 gpm
top speed 28 knots

The "Vernon R Buss" is docked behind Fire Station 17
at 848 North Tomahawk Island drive on Hayden Island.
This boat is utilized for incidents on the southern side of the island
along the Columbia River.

Vernon R Buss was a retired Portland Battalion Chief
