"Fireboats"

The San Diego Harbor Police are cross trained in law enforcement and firefighting.
The agency is responsible for firefighting within the 22 square miles of San Diego Harbor.

In 2010 and 2011 the SDHP took delivery of (5) new fireboats.
The identical MetalCraft FireStorm 36 Fireboats are
39' 2" LOA - 13' beam - 22" draft
They are capable of approx 2,200 GPM

The blue painted vessels are docked at the Harbor Police Headquarters
at 1401 Shelter Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA.

Officers typically operate at least one vessel on patrol in the southern bay
but vessels are ready to respond at any time for incidents on the water.

The agency operates a number of other vessels as well.
