On The Road Summer 2015

DAY 4 - JULY 8
Day 4 began in the rural farm country of northern Illinois. We looked at the map and determined we were actually only about an hour away from Wisconsin and the city of Milwaukee, which were not originally part of the plan, but since they also had a fireboat we decided to make the trip north into cheese country. There were a few interesting volunteer stations along the way.

Milwaukee is a historic city on the waterfront of Lake Michigan. We found a few stations and located the Milwaukee Fireboat 1 at the Discovery Pier next to the rather interestingly shaped Museum of Art. We had an awesome lunch and then learned that the Milwaukee Brewers were playing an afternoon game at Miller Park. Why not catch a game?! The Brewers hosted the Atlanta Braves. We enjoyed the park and the game, but got out early, missing the comeback win for the home team.

We drove back into Illinois for night 4 after another full day, adding another state (WI) to the map, enjoying a great lunch and game, and added 257 more miles to the trip. About 1,580 miles so far.
