Driving from Michigan around the southern end of Lake Michigan took us into Indiana.  We made a stop at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and state park.  A quick walk out to the beach and dunes revealed the awesome power of the wind driving the surf up on the southern shore creating these sand dunes.

     The weather improved as we drove into Illinois to Chicago in search of yet another fireboat.  Driving the camper into downtown Chicago midday may not have been the smartest choice, but it worked out fine.  We eventually found the fireboat station and found a place to park the camper for some pictures from a distance (best we could do) of Chicago's newer Fireboat "Christopher Wheatley" actually flowing water next to their older boat. Chicago is a beautiful and impressive city which deserved more time than we allowed. We'll have to go back someday.

     We found our way safely out of the city to a campground a little northwest of Chicago for night 3 adding another 201 miles and stickers for Indiana and Illinois.
