WEEK 4
DAY 22
DAY 22 - JULY 26 We needed to get an early start out of Chama and were so glad we got up when we did. We were blessed with a spectacular New Mexico sunrise at least as beautiful as the previous sunset. As we drove out of town we had to stop as a dozen or so deer slowly made their way across the main street for breakfast. Robyn got some drive time as we made our way west to Aztec Ruins National Monument and then on to the Four Corners where Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah all come together at a single point. From there it was off to Monument Valley, UT which sort of defines this part of the world with its shapes. We continued on north to a place called Moab, Utah that we had never been to before. We arrived just before sunset and had one of those jaw dropping moments as we took in the shear beauty of the campground and surrounding mountains. What an amazing place. |

Apparently this has been a problem
Sights like this are not even in a park, they are just part of the drive.
The shapes of rock carved by wind, rain, and time take on life like features.
Circles of life are everywhere
