An extended weekend visit to New York City
from July 14 - 17, 2011
included a visit to three boroughs, the marine division headquarters, a ride on the fireboat John J. Harvey,
the 2011 blessing of the fleet with several new fireboats, a stop at ground zero, and much more..

Marine Division
The Fire Department of New York protects over 500 miles of coastline
in and around the city. Fireboats have been a part of protecting the city
for over a hundred years. The special boats that have served are infamous
in many ways, including shown here as part of the 9/11 memorial at the
Eng 10 / Lad 10 Firehouse at Ground Zero.
