WHAT IS UP WITH THE DATE 4-9-11?
In what may have been the biggest shakeup since the actual retirement in January, the Crosby's agreed to CHANGE the original Retirement Party Date from April 23, 2011 to April 9, 2011. The new date, coincidentally known as 4-9-11! came weeks after the original date of 4-23 had been announced, throwing hundreds on people off the trail. According to inside sources, certain individuals were unable to make the 4-23 date and paid off the Crosby's to agree to the new date stating "The check is in the mail!" Numerologist around the world have been studying the obvious relationship of 4-23 with KZR 432 and the apparent relationship between 4-9-11 and for 911 which has apparent connection with the universal "emergency" number. Time will tell what in fact the relationship is between the two dates! Almost exactly two weeks earlier to the day, hour, and minute 4-9-11 appears to have become the time, the date, and the place!
POPE HAPPY WITH NEW DATE
The Vatican has announced its pleasure with the 4-9-11 date. "The Pope was originally going to have to cancel Easter on April 23 in order to attend the Crosby Retirement Party. "It really works out better for the Easter Bunny and egg manufacturers to have the party on 4-9-11!" Amen!

While some struggle with worldwide economic woes, tragic natural disasters, and impending wars, others are making plans for what could be the best retirement party ever.
In Hyannis, at the Cape Codder Resort and Spa, on Route 132, the JFK room (named after a former Hyannis President of the United States) will be converted into an "Obama-like" inaugural room with Greek pillars painted on the walls and tables set with real table cloths on Saturday April 9, 2011 (AKA 4-9-11) as the doors open at approximately 1730 hours (5:30 PM for those non-24 hour types) for a one hour (60 minutes) "Social Hour" during which adult beverages, including those containing ETOH (AKA Condition 3) will be served in massive quantities as guests arrive.
Soon after, at approximately 1830 hours (aka 6:30 PM) a variety of food will be served. "This is no sit down and get served meal!" "This is a get what you want, when you want it, and find yourself a seat kinda meal!" Food will vary depending on what you want to eat, "but you won't go home hungry." For those who do go home hungry, Wendy's is just up the road and is open late that night.
Sometime after eating, at approximately 1930 hours (that's almost 7:30 PM or so) the grand festivities will commence. It's still unsure if the Hyannis Fire Department will allow the indoor fireworks display to take place as planned, but there will certainly be some sort of an exciting opening ceremony and the usual yadda yadda yadda "where as, and where as" types of presentations.
When everyone has had enough, the party will move into the bar where is will probably continue until bad things start happening.
The Cape Codder is offering guest rooms at very reasonable rates for those who wish to protect the public by staying off the road that night.
Anyone wishing to get up and say nice things about the Crosby's should contact someone who cares or a member of the committee who for a small fee may be able to arrange two minutes of speaking time near the end of the good stuff.
LONDON - "The date has been set!" said a spokesman for the British Royal
couple. Prince William, elder son of Prince Charles and the late
Princess Diana, will marry Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011. The couple
waited to announce their wedding date until after the Crosby's
Retirement Party date had been selected.While not typically protocol for British Royalty to defer to the activities of former colonies such as the US of A, sources pointed out that such a party only comes along once in a lifetime and they did not want to miss it!
While the British look forward to the crowning of their future King and Queen, they recognized the fact that both William and Kate were still in diapers when Robyn was hired at COMM in 1982. And Britton, after which the British empire was named, had been a member of COMM (aka C&O) since 1975, fully 7 years before the future king and queen were even a twinkle in Charles's eyes.
"A royal wedding is such a special occasion" said a Sir Soandso from Yorkshire Pudding , 'but personally, I already have my reservations in for the Crosby Party! I'm not missing that bash!" Others agreed. "The royals are a bit uptight, but the Americans attending the Crosby's party, they know how to have a good time." Hip Hip Horray! Hip Hip Horray!
The Queen could not be reached for comment, but is reported to have reservations at the Cape Codder Resort and Spa in Hyannis on4-9-11 - the same night as" the party."
Always a big hit a weddings are the gifts. The royals are expecting the usual China, Crystal. Rolls Royces, Yachts, Trips, Jewells, and servants.
In Hyannis, where the real party takes place, recommended gifts include 5 liter Boxes (aka Strike the Box) of Zinfendal, Jugs of Admiral Nelson Spiced Rum (or equivalent, (plastic bottles don't break in the camper), and gift certificates to "Early Bird Specials" at any local establishment that allows sneakers and shorts.

It was a Friday morning, not unlike any other Friday morning, but it was the first pay day of the new year. Shortly after 0800 hours (that's 8 AM for those who can't tell time) the Crosby's (both of them) entered the Chief's office and suggested he sit down. What transpired after that is a closely kept secret (except to those who have already heard the story)

Gus was one of the first fulltime firefighters at COMM and was a
founding member of Local 2346. It was his influence that was most key to
