THE TRIP SOUTH
Several stops on the way South

We left the Cape on March 13, 2023. It was COLD!
A brief stop at Groton Long Point in Connecticut found a Fireboat.
The journey continued south ending up at the Towson, MD Maryland Fire Museum
to check out the recently completed Mayor Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr. "Tommy"
Fireboat display. Very well done!

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA
A stop at Spotsylvania, VA hoping to find their Fireboat.
Unsuccessful on first attempt.

 

 

CHESTERFIELD, VA
Fire Station 18 is home to the Chesterfield County Fireboat.

 

 

LONG BRIDGE, LITTLETON, NC
Lake Gaston on the Virginia - North Carolina border near Roanoke Rapids,
has a Fireboat located in Littleton, NC.

 

 

SHERRILLS FORD TERRELL, NC
We went a little west towards Lake Norman (near Charlotte NC) to find a few Fireboats.
Sherrills Ford Terrell was the first stop.
The department has several Stations and some good looking apparatus, as well as the Fireboat.

 

SHERRILLS FORD TERRELL, NC
The Sherrills Ford Terrell Fireboat is docked at the Boat Rack Marina off Spinnaker Bay Drive.
Fireboat 16 is a 2020 Lake Assault 28' Landingcraft Style 1500 gpm Fireboat.

 

 

DENVER, NC
Another Lake Norman Fireboat is operated by the the Denver Fire Department FD.
The Denver Fireboat 13 is a 2010 Lake Assault 28' 1500 gpm boat with its own dock.

 

 

 

PUMPKIN CENTER, NC
A little place called Pumpkin Center, NC has a nice color scheme.
