COMM FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Centerville-Osterville-Martsons Mills Fire Department held a
Change of Command ceremony at the Centerville Fire Headquarters
on Friday June 28, 2024.
FIRE CHIEF MIKE WINN RETIRES
Fire Chief Michael Winn retired after 11 years as the COMM FD Chief.
He completes over 33 years in the fire service including years with the
Greenfield, Massachusetts Fire Department prior to becoming COMM FD's
6th Fire Chief June 28, 2013.
BYRON ELDRIDGE NEW FIRE CHIEF
Deputy Chief Byron Eldridge was sworn in as the new COMM FD
Fire Chief. He served as Deputy since 2013, and as a Captain and Lieutenant
for many years. He joined COMM FD in 1985, and had previously served
with Mashpee and Wareham prior to that.
PATRICK HILL NEW DEPUTY CHIEF
Patrick Hill became the new Department Deputy Chief.
He had most recently served as Lieutenant in Fire Prevention
and on shifts prior to that.
CEREMONY
A large turnout of families, friends, and fellow firefighters attended
the ceremony.
