NOTE MARCH 2021
A new boat house was built for the "Blaze" near Breakwater Park
off Breakwater Drive across the basin from where the 2015 photos were taken.
Unfortunately, budget issues have apparently kept the boat out of service
for some time and it was not in the water for the March 2021 visit.
----------
A larger boat is operated by the Port of New Orleans in the
Mississippi River.
That boat is the 1994 General Roy S Kelley which is 95 long, with 16' beam and
draws 7 feet. with a capacity of approx 13,500 gpm.
See PORT OF NEW ORLEANS
This flat bottom boat is common in the NOLA Fire Department
for flooding
and water rescue situations. This boat was at Station 13.
