Many fire boats have served the City of New York over the years.
Among those who are still around to be admired are the
Active Reserve Fire Boat "Governor Alfred E. Smith
located at the Marine Division Headquarters in Brooklyn.
The other is the retired (now Privately operated) John J. Harvey.

Harvey served as Marine Company 2

in front of the Intrepid Museum during the 2011 Blessing of the Fleet
which included welcoming of the newest FDNY Fireboats.

I had the honor of being aboard the Harvey July 16, 2011

There is no "software" operating the Harvey,,, only "hardware"
that has been working for 80 years.
