HORRY COUNTY FIRE RESCUE
The Horry County fire boat is just under 30 feet in length.
It was built in 2001 at the Silver Ships yard in Mobile, Alabama.
Originally one of two boats built for the Orange Beach, Alabama
Fire Department (between Mobile and Pensacola).
In 2009, Horry County was in the market for a fire boat.
When the Orange Beach boat came available, Horry County
purchased it. It is one of the only firefighting boats in the
coastal South Carolina area, protecting many miles of water way,
marinas, and shore front properties.
