CENTERVILLE FIRE
COMM Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire on Rachel
Carson Lane
in Centerville just after noon on Monday May 2, 2016. On arrival the crew
of E-305
encountered a 2 story home with an attached garage with heavy fire involving the
garage and threatening to extend into the house. An aggressive attack with a
2-1/2"
handline was able to knock the fire down and limit the spread of the fire.
Additional
crews from Hyannis and Barnstable came in to assist COMM crews on the "working
fire" assignment. Crews from Cotuit, West Barnstable, and Mashpee covered
COMM FD stations during the fire.
