CHANGE OF COMMAND
The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department held a
Change of Command ceremony on February 28, 2025
at the Centerville Fire Headquarters.

CHIEF BYRON ELDRIDGE RETIRED
Fire Chief Byron Eldridge retired after 48 years in the fire service.
He began his journey with the Wareham Fire Department as a call
firefighter in 1977. We was hired fulltime in 1983. In 1985 he served
with the Mashpee Fire Department and then joined the COMM Fire Department,
where he has served for 40 years.
He began as a Firefighter/Paramedic, then moved up the chain of command as
a Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, and Fire Chief since June 28, 2024
when Chief Michael Winn (2013-2024) retired after 11 years.
 

FIRE CHIEF PATRICK HILL
New Fire Chief Patrick Hill grew up in Centerville.
He joined the COMM Fire Department in 2007.
In 2018 he was promoted to Lieutenant and in 2020 transferred
into Fire Prevention. He became Deputy Chief in June 2024
and became the Department's new Chief Feb 28, 2025
with the retirement of Chief Eldridge.
 

DEPUTY CHIEF MICHAEL ROGERS
New Deputy Chief Mike Rogers also grew up in Centerville.
He started out with the West Barnstable Fire Department in 2004
and joined the COMM Fire Department in 2005.
He served as a Firefighter/EMT, Lieutenant, and became the
Department's fourth Deputy Chief on Feb 28, 2025.
