Barnstable County Forest Fire Service bought another Maxim custom
brush breaker in 1960. The new truck No.3 was very similar to the
1958 Maxim, with a 250 gpm pump and 800 gallon tank. The truck was
assigned to the Orleans Fire Department. The 1960 Maxim County breaker No.3 C-13 is shown in front of the new combination fire and police station on Eldridge Parkway in Orleans, along with the 1953 FWD Engine 2 and 1966 Mack C Engine 1. This breaker would serve in Orleans until about 1982 when the County Forest Fire Service dissolved. At that time, Orleans apparently declined to take on ownership. The truck then went on to serve in Eastham for several years.
