The new 2002 Pierce Quantum Quint Ladder 297 goes in service.

Chief Joe Maruca says a few kind words about the 'old' 1967 Maxim Ladder 297
that is now retired.
Members ceremoniously push the 'old' ladder out of the station onto the back
lot.
Another Maxim retired.
The blessings are made on the new ladder truck and all those who will serve on
her.
Chief Maruca gets the first water on the new ladder as it is "wet down".
Members then ceremoniously push the new truck into quarters.
Out back, the Maxim awaits the highest bidder on EBay to find a new home.
