The Massachusetts Dept of Fire
Services Incident Support Unit
along with equipment and personnel from local, county, state, and
federal agencies participated in a training exercise practicing the
establishment of command and communications systems while
distributing flu shots to Sandwich citizens on Friday Nov. 14, 2008.
Fire Marshal Stephen Coan was among the VIPs that attended the drill.
The ISU has vast communications capabilities.
The 267th Combat Communications
Squadron from Otis
brought the JISCC facility and provided various communications
links and video conferencing capabilities.
As the public entered the
distribution site they were signed in and
directed to the drive through immunization point.
Members of the IMT and incident
command staff conducted
briefings, planning meetings, and tactics meetings during the drill.
