CAPE COD
MEMORIALS
REMEMBERING
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

Posted September 18, 2012 - Updated September 10, 2017

As the years begin to pass, and the memories begin to fade, a number of local
Cape Cod Fire Departments have made sure that those lost on September 11, 2001
will in fact "Never Be Forgotten." Here are some images showing the work done
to preserve and pay tribute to the memories of that day.

Massachusetts Military Reservation
On 9-11-01, jets from Otis Air Force Base were scrambled to
quickly respond to New York City in response to the attacks on the WTC.
Members of the MMR Fire Department recently built a beautiful memorial
in front of their headquarters station. It was dedicated on 9-11-12.

The memorial has a base shaped to represent the Pentagon,
twin granite towers representing WTC 1 & 2 Towers,
and include a piece of steel from one of the towers.
