FIRE RESCUE BOAT OPERATOR TRAINING
COMM-Hyannis-Cotuit- Barnstable Harbormaster

Personnel from the COMM FD, Hyannis FD, Cotuit FD, and Barnstable Harbormaster recently participated
in USCG training for Fire and Rescue boat operators. The 40 hour course included both class room and
hands on sessions. Boats from each of the four agencies were used as each participant practiced basic
handling of the boats, including safe docking. The class prepares designated operators to become certified
as well as to make sure they are capable and confident with various emergency operations.
