R.I.T. TRAIN THE TRAINER
AT COMM HQ

Members of Barnstable's five fire districts underwent
intensive training to be able to
become training instructors in life saving Rapid Intervention Team (RIT)
techniques.
Barnstable FD, COMM FD , Cotuit FD, Hyannis FD, and West Barnstable FD received
a substantial grant and have spent the past several months training many of the
personnel
within the town in firefighter safety, rapid intervention, commanding mayday
events,
and officer training to bring each of the departments up to a high level of
preparation
in the event firefighters are trapped or in trouble. This class prepares
officers and
many firefighters to share knowledge and skills with others in the future.
Training was provided by the Massachusetts Department of Fire
Services Fire Academy
at the Centerville Fire Station.
