2nd Alarm Structure Fire

BOURNE TRANSFER STATION
The Bourne Fire Department received a municipal alarm followed by a phone
call for smoke coming from the town transfer station on MacArthur Blvd at
approx 1725 hours on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Upon arrival Car 142
found heavy smoke showing and requested a working fire assignment. Units
set up water supply and operated master streams into the building which contained
assorted trash and building materials.  A second alarm was later transmitted
and a Tier 1 Haz Mat response was requested  to monitor air quality in the area.

The fire was difficult to reach and burned for more than 5 hours as crews
worked to contain the fire.  Units remained on scene over night.
