Barnstable firefighters found a 60' x 100' 1 story steel building
well involved on arrival.

Live wires down on arrival hampered firefighters.

Side 4 of the building had the heaviest amount of fire on arrival.

Several vehicles inside and outside the building were also involved.

Barnstable Engine 205 was first to arrive with Lt. George Blanchard striking the
2nd alarm prior to arrival based on police reports and the glow in the sky.

Engine 205 layed in and made an attack with its deckgun.

The Amaral Autobody shop was fully involved and fire
was spreading through interior exposures to several
other occupancies in the building.

In addition to the deckgun, numerous handlines were operated by firefighters
from the Barnstable, Hyannis, and Yarmouth departments.

It took approximately 1 hour to bring the fire under control.

This pickup truck was destroyed in the building.

The full 2nd alarm response brought 4 engines, a ladder, a tower, a heavy rescue,
2 ambulances, the red cross canteen, and several other units to the scene, while
COMM, WBFD, and Yarmouth units covered firehouses.
