Fire Chief Richard Pauley Jr
Wellfleet Fire Chief Richard Pauley Jr is retiring effective August 31, 2024.
He served as Wellfleet's Chief over 11 years since February 2013.
He had previously served as Chief at two other departments in MA and NH,
for  total of some 25 years as a Fire Chief.
He has 40 years in the fire service.

During his time at Wellfleet, he more than doubled staffing, going from
about 2 on duty per shift, to 5 per shift.
Added a full time Deputy Chief.
Much of the apparatus was also replaced and upgraded.

A "Last Day" coffee was held on Wednesday August 21, 2024.
Past and present members of the Cape fire service came to wish him well.

Deputy Joseph Cappello has been named as the new Wellfleet Fire Chief.
