Provincetown Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire
at the White Dory
Condos at 616 Commercial Street, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at approx
13:00.
On arrival, heavy smoke and fire was showing from the first floor.
A strong wind threatened to push the fire through the large structure.
Engine 190 and Ladder 192 positioned on Commercial Street Side A for fire
attack.
Engine 195 positioned in the rear on Side C.
A "Working Fire" assignment was transmitted.
The assignment brought mutual aid Engines to scene:
Truro E483, Wellfleet E94, Eastham E155, Harwich E65 and Brewster E234.
Orleans LT176 also reported to the scene. Chiefs from Truro C471, Wellfleet
Deputy,
Eastham Deputy, Orleans Chief, Brewster Chief, Harwich Deputy to the scene.
Coverage included Chatham E186, Harwich LQ66 to PTown
Yarmouth E42, Dennis L110, COMM A324 to Truro.
Barnstable E202, Hyannis E822, Chatham A183 to Eastham.
There may have been other moves as well.
Fortunately, crews were able to knock the fire down quickly
and contain it.
There were reports that a dog perished. No other injuries reported.
Crews remained on scene for hours.
