HYANNIS FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC ANDREW KLEAMENAKIS

after working over 29 years as a Hyannis Firefighter/Paramedic.
Andy began his career in EMS in 1977 becoming an EMT. He worked a couple
years
in Private Ambulance EMS and was hired by Boston EMS in 1979 as an EMT.
He attended the Northeastern University Paramedic program in 1982 and
was
promoted to the position of Paramedic with Boston EMS in 1984, serving
for
6 years as a Boston Medic.
In July 1990, Andy came to the Cape as a
Firefighter/Paramedic with the
Hyannis Fire Department and has served for over 29 years as a
Firefighter/Paramedic.
In addition to his ordinary duties, he also became a Boat Coxswain with
Hyannis.
He joined the USAR MA-TF-1 team from 2001 to 2007. In 2005 he joined and
continues to be
a member of the Massachusetts District 1 Hazardous Materials Team
serving as a truck manager.
He has been recognized and awarded citations numerous times along the
way for his service.
He enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge and sense of humor with
others.
For many years, "Operator K" also dispatched at
Hyannis Fire Alarm as part of the normal
shift rotation. Andy enjoyed this duty and brought his own style to the
radio.
