TRAGIC FIRE
Cotuit Fire Department responded to a reported house fire on Trout Brook Road
at dusk on Monday January 18, 2021. On arrival at the 2 story wood frame home
crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the first floor. A 2nd Alarm
was struck shortly after arrival.

Upon entry, the crew located 2 family dogs that were overcome by the smoke and heat of the fire.
The dogs were removed to the front yard where Barnstable Police Officers initiated K9 CPR

Sadly, both dogs perished at the scene. The scene was tragic as family members arriving
home mourned the loss of their family pets.
