Yamouth Fire Department
Retired Captain Lee Paraseau, age 73, passed away on February 2, 2022.
He had served as Director of the Barnstable Fire Academy for many years.
The Fire Bell in Dennis
Retired Tewksbury Deputy Chief and owner of the Fire Bell shop in West Dennis
passed away April 5, 2022 at age 88.

Retired Dennis Fire Chief John Donlan passed away on June 7, 2022.
He had retired in August 2021 after 46 years of service.

Another long time member and leader, retired Deputy Dick Hunter passed away June
26, 2022.
Ceremony was held on June 30, 2022
West Barnstable Fire Department
Retired Fire Chief John P Jenkins passed away on September 27, 2022 at age 77.
He joined the fire department when he was 16 in 1962 and served in the USAF
before becoming WBFD Chief from 1973 to 2005.
A great man, leader, and friend.

Barnstable Fire Department
Deputy Chief Rick Pfautz was among those who retired in 2022.
He retired on January 28, 2022 after serving 33 years.

Fire Chief Edward Bradley retired after 47 years of service and 15 years
as Chief on April 12, 2022.
Neil Foley was appointed as the new Plymouth Fire Chief.

Long time District 1 Patrolman Bobby Crocker retired after 39 years of service.

Chief Tom Rullo retired after 9 years as Chief in Mashpee.

Lt/P Paul Medeiros retired April 29, 2022 after 31+ years with Hyannis
and a long service with the PFFM.

Fire Chief Phil Simonian retired May 6, 2022 after 39 years with YFD
and as Chief since 2014.
Mashpee Fire Department
Senior Firefighter Mark Lopez retired after 45 years of service.

Deputy Chief Eric Kristofferson retired July 2022 after many years of service.
Captain Mark Storie was promoted to Deputy and many other promotions were also
made.
Duxbury Fire Department
Fire Chief Kevin Nord retired in July 2022 after serving as Fire Chief for 18
years.
Hyannis Fire Department
Lt/P K. C. Curtis Pike retired after 21 years if service.

Fire Chief Frank Pulsifer retired on November 17, 2022 after serving as Deputy
and Chief
in Barnstable for 10 years. His 32 year career began in Northborough and COMM
FD.
Chatham Fire Department
Fire Chief Dave DePasquale retired on November 30, 2022 after serving as chief
for the
past 2 years and after 33 years with Chatham FD.
Brewster Fire Department
Lt Cindy Coulter retired from the Brewster FD after serving as a Call EMT for
40+ years.

Eastham Fire Department
New Deputy Chief Lisa Albino was promoted on January 14, 2022.
She has served the Eastham FD for 35 years since 1987 as a Firefighter,
Paramedic,
and Officer.

He came back to the Cape after serving 27 years with Concord, NH Fire Dept.
He replaced Interim Chief Mike Small and retired Chief Paul Rhude.

Deputy Chris Beal was promoted to Fire Chief on Saturday November 19, 2022.
He replaced Chief Pulsifer.

Captain Kevin Brailey was promoted to Deputy Chief on November 19, 2022.
Barnatable also promoted Neil Tuepker to Captain, Keith Stranger EMS Officer,
and introduced several new members.

~ INCIDENTS ~
COMM FATAL FIRE
A 62 year old woman perished in a Marstons Mills house fire on Sunday, March 6,
2022.
The fire was reported shortly after 8:00 pm on Lakeside Drive.

Nantucket Fire
Mutual Aid from Cape Cod (very rare) was called to assist Nantucket as they
battled
a major fire at the historic Veranda House Hotel in the middle of town early in
the
morning on July 9, 2022. Approximately 36 guests escaped safely and the town was
saved by Nantucket firefighters under the command of Deputy Sean Mitchell
averting a repeat of the 1845 Great Fire that burned down much of Nantucket.

A 4th Alarm was struck for a fire in the Summerfield Park at 800 Falmouth Road
at about 1:00 pm on Tuesday July 12, 2022.
Mattapoisett Fire Department
The Mattapoisett Boatyard on Ned's Point Road was destroyed by a mid-day 5 Alarm
Fire
on Friday August 19, 2022 that brought mutual aid from many area fire
departments.
It included operation of 3 fireboats.

on Saturday October 8, 2022 at about 8:00 pm.

while Hyannis was tied up at a water rescue on School Street,

Several departments were involved in the annual Tanker Shuttle Drill in West
Barnstable

Some of the new training props on Cape Cod were demonstrated at the Patriot
Square
in Dennis on October 27, 2022.

Cotuit Fire Department
Cotuit members were recognized on May 2, 2022 for being part of a cardiac arrest
save.
A Boston Visit
We attended baseball games on my Birthday and Father's Day at Fenway
with the St. Louis Cardinals in town. Recognition of STL Albert Pujols "5" by
Big Papi.
And a visit with our Nick. Special times.
