On The Job
From smoke and flames, to blood and tears,
as Firefighters we face our own worst kinds of fears.
Each day we witness the personal tragedies
of our fellow man,
and try to comfort those who need us, the best that we can.
It's not enough to have the skills for jobs
that are asked of us,
but to try and find the safest way to organize the chaos.
The training is continuous, and the physical demands are great,
but our determination to beat the odds
shall keep us from our fate.
Although brotherhood and comradery
are something that we look for,
it's security, pride and family that we're all working for.
So the next emergency that we face
we'll certainly do our best,
and hope that God is there with us
to take care of the rest.
