Lake Powell-Glen Canyon NRA
"The Chief"
The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area includes the spectacular
manmade
Lake Powell on the Colorado River at the Utah/Arizona border. The lake is a very
popular recreational area with hundreds of boats of all sizes and types using
the lake.
The boat was built by Munson Boats in 2010.
It is 32' LOA landing craft style with a 11' beam.
The pump is capable of about 1,000 GPM with 2 deckguns.
The boat has foam capability as well.
It is powered by twin diesel engines capable of about 30 knots.
The National Park Service operates a Fire-Rescue boat from the marina at Wahweap
near Page, AZ. Several other vessels from local, county, state, and
federal agencies
are docked at Wahweap.
